I'm no Vettel fan but he does bring an edge of unpredictability to the races which F1 needs, I've watched the incident back a few times in slow-mo and I'm afraid I feel Vettel is correct, he had an off, kept reasonable control & re-joined, it's quite a quick corner and I doubt many other drivers would have held it, he did well to not end up backwards into the wall, which would almost for sure taken out Hamilton too, then debris everywhere and multiple laps under safety car.
Also evident in slow-mo is that Vettel never turns towards Hamilton to close off the gap, you can see tiny left inputs as he tries to balance his line & turn away from the wall
