Back in 1989 I made my first approach to Morgan regarding a new car, unfortunately it didn't work out but the desire remained. Fast forward to 2018 and very sadly my dear Mother passed away leaving me a small inheritance that, together with a generous part exchange, I could get my dream car and it would serve as a wonderful reminder of poor Mum.

3 weeks ago I finally picked up a new Plus 4 - I had a tear in my eye as I first set sight on it in champagne with Cuba and all the bells and whistles

Three weeks in and I can't say it's been enjoyable. I expected the car would need some running in as I'm sub 500 miles and I received some great advice from the likes of Cain and KEVFITZ amongst others on what to expect, however there are two issues I find completely distracting;

1. The speedo mists up. I've had the opportunity to chat to a few people about this an the general response is circa "only one gauge" or " they all do that" or "Morgan have been looking at this for ages" - Now is it only me or should the gages not mist up? Has anyone else had this or accept that it's a 'norm'. I'd love to know what people think and if anyone else had this issue - Is it a warranty thing or do folks say it is part of the 'charisma'?

2. The power delivery is appalling. I have a fat spot between 2000 - 3000 RPM and it kills the driving experience. I'm working below 4000 as a run in right now but it is dead below 3000 and flat - This can't be right. Now with the milage I hope it would improve but as of now nothing gives me any indication that it will. I opted for the standard exhaust etc. so there was no issues with emissions or fuelling so why is it now as smooth as a GDI Mondeo

I would really appreciate some words of wisdom as to the best way forward. The dealer is a 8 hour round trip so not easily accessible and to be truthful I'm ready to give up. I live on the moors -s uperb driving roads - today the sun was shining and I opted to take my 2005 Saab diesel!

Note the time and day - I've had a pint and I'm not too happy - I know you all love the marque but this can't only be me?

Any help will be really appreciated.
