To all those that have offered sound advice and guidance a quick up-date.
I've spoken to a Morgan Engineer regarding the engine performance. He has agreed there's an issue with the car and thinks either a wiring fault or early failure of an ECU or associated component that needs to be sorted at dealer level. So that is the next step.
Hopefully there will be some easily identifiable failure and I can move on getting to know the car

Paddockman, you mention in your first post your Mog is around 3 weeks old, I thought at 1 month or 1000 miles, MMC recommend the dealer checks over the car again, certainly mine did and at no cost (unless you wanted an additional oil change)
Hopefully you will get your engine / ecu issue sorted and fall back in love with your Mog
