You could do a good job yourself if you learn the process of paint correction. It is not as scary as some make out provided you do it properly. In the early days I even polished a fridge we were giving to my daughter as practice.
My dad was a coachbuilder and so I had a good start. I also did the Autofinesse demo/teaching day at Williams not that long ago. They brought scrap panels along for use. A very good refresher day.
When I did my car a couple of weeks ago it wasn’t a paint correction as such, just a light polishing (there are still some deeper marks but I am not going to polish it to death to remove them)With the dual action machine. A safer option than full rotary polisher. It looks like an angle grinder( shocked2) but actually stops rotating if too much pressure is applied.
