Ah! Politicians.....
They go with the short term “ look at me, I am eco friendly” mentality. Just look at the diesel U-turn.
Electric is being promoted and funded but the issues it generates( no pun intended) re generating capacity, distribution, long term battery issues are ignored or glossed over with regurgitation of eco phrases re the “now” and not long term.
Also there is the lobbying power of the vested interests. Oil, gas, electricity, car makers.....
Personally I would go hydrogen power as it would mean simpler car mods on the lines of LPG conversion and theoretically keep the cost of buying a car lower. So, come on politicians....bite the bullet and push hydrogen more.
Drop the HST and put the money into hydrogen power.
