I've never found the clutch on my Roadster to be especially heavy, and first gear in the Series 1 is a usable gear.

Rear discs are a waste of time & cash, my drum shoes had only worn to still have more than 50% liner left after 48,000 miles AND others have found the handbrake on discs to be very ineffective
