Quite possibly. But that's always been the case, MMC has always had to compete in a market where there is lots of competition from manufacturers offering more advanced solutions.

But there's nothing to stop MMC offering an EV or hybrid drivetrain and if the MMC engineers aren't already having discussions with BMW about how they might be able to package a BMW solution into the CX platform then I'd be amazed.
