It should be easy to check and see if you have this switch fitted, while using the throttle with the right foot, gently apply the brake with the left foot, the brake should override the throttle cutting off the fuel, when the brake is released the fuel will flow and the throttle work again.
Most cars have this feature (im sure my roadster, plus4 did this) my tin tops do.
Well I revved it in the garage with the brake on and the engine didn’t cut out?
I have replaced that crappy brake light switch twice they are rubbish. And the secondary switch that cuts the fuel or ignition when you touch the brake and throttle together is a nanny state POS and dangerous. If you can’t control your feet catch a cab. Heel and toe on a Morgan is pretty much out of the question anyway due to the lack of thought and abysmal location of the the throttle pedal, but on cars like the Lotus Elise which tend to do track days and even in the road are driven in a “Spirited” manner, watch what happens when you try to blip the the throttle and change down on the approach to a corner, or worse trail brake in a corner. Yes I know that may modern cars now blip the throttle on downshifts for you to impress your mates and make you feel like a hero, personally I find that as big a toss as a V8/V12 sound injected into the cabin on an electric car. The sad truth is that we have let the monkeys take charge of the zoo, and most of our legislation is now drawn up by unimaginative, boring beaurocrats and academics to who like having the car wrap them in cotton wool while their Nissan Leaf is made to sound like Ferrari and “rather excitingly” blips the the imaginary V12 as their gearboxless car decelerates.
We have long since seen Humans at their best, that cut off switch, artificial engine noise and. Reality TV are all the proof you need.
PS - I have nothing against electric cars, other than I believe they are a technological dead end being foisted on us at the moment. The future is Hydrogen power.But of course those monkeys in charge of the zoo just cant get the picture of the Hindenburg out of their tiny minds.
