We shouldn’t overlook the probability that the extra fuel cut-off circuit is an add-on to Scrape the last few percentage points during pre-production validation tests for emissions and consumption, and not much else. I’ve been hearing some tales about the tricks the engineers got up to. I’m told that volvo had a switch operated by opening the bonnet , which changed the ecu settings during emissions testing.
If that were true I’d be happy to leave it bypassed, and might explain why those in the know have kept silent.
