For what it's worth the dates look right: VUY5G (which is a Worcestershire registration) was first registered in September 1968 and according to Ken Hill's book chassis B1726 was produced in August or September that year. The .gov.uk web site gives the tax for YUY5G being due in September 1984 which coincides with the date B1726 was exported to Australia.
