That does not sound good. How many people are driving round with the washer about to fail?
Each to their own, but unless you are up for track days or are into extremely spirited road driving with hard braking at the last moment, I really cannot see the point in brake reaction bars. Drilling holes in the chassis, bars rubbing the tyres, now the risk of fastenings exploding...
I'm not sure that it's the brake reaction bar so much as tightening the oiler bolt that stresses the spherical washer, is it? once it's done, I can't see how the presence of the BRB would
per se increase the risk of failure?
I would agree that the brake reaction bars aren't necessary for normal driving, but I did find my car felt more secure when piling into corners under hard braking after I fitted mine. But as you say,
