As from 2030, I believe that domestic heating will no longer be permitted to be based on fossil-fuel for new or replacement boilers. I hope heat pumps get cheaper, apparently a ground-source installation is around £10 to 12k?


If you find anybody who will do a Ground Source heat pump for £10-12k let me know. My quote (from a National company) was £47k and there was no guarantee that it would qualify for Government subsidies and I would have to make all Govt applications. ROI was about 7 years.

It also meant trashing 600 yards of under lawn "up and down" channelling for pipe or 5 X100mtr bore holes.
