I had noticed that Peter (aka PJB) was reluctant to make posts on the forum on some issues as he was worried about this being seen as a conflict of interest or promoting the products of a company that he is associated with.

Sometimes there may be a fine line between what is seen as helpful advice and what is seen as promotion. My personal attitude is that comments should/can be made with the proviso that the interests of the author are clearly declared, does not denegrate the products of another company or person, offers advice of a general nature within the competence of the author but with the exception of answering specific questions relating to the authors products.

My view is that Peter (and others in a similar situation) has always been very careful to comply with these 'unwritten' provisions in that they fall within his own code of ethics.

Personally I always find Peter's posts interesting and informative and, whilst I understand his reserve, I don't think he has crossed the line. Obviously I can't speak for Simon and/or the mods but I don't believe that Peter's posts could be construed as covert advertising or full of' outward links'.
