The idea is to lubricate the bores prior to start up and prevent piston ring breakage or wear

Pull it round on a spanner a couple of turns just to make sure everything is free.

Pop the plugs out, disconnect the coil and spin the engine over on the starter until the oil pressure guage registers pressure

I reckon if they've nailed it down to 'no spark', that ship has unfortunately sailed smile smile


But Arwyn is totally correct here. OK oiling the bores might have been missed but PLEASE whip out the plugs and turn the engine over on the starter to get some oil pressure before going for a start.
