Hi Nick,
As you can see from the first photo in my blog, non of the Roadster intake pipes were put over the radiator. The were all placed behind the rad so were taking warm air restricted by the rad.
One or two owners have created pipe systems to take the opening down behind the rad with the opening under the rad to create a ram effect but I imagine that they introduce other risks.
