For the last couple of months I have been asking everyone I come into contact with (around MMC) about the new M3W.

This is just my current feeling, based on all the little 'bits' I've got

Ford Ecotec 1.0 3 cylinder - water cooled, turbo
Fully enclosed under bonnet
Wider front track - with car type tyres
Rear wheel drive
Rear disc brake
Longer o/all than previous

The prototypes are being tested now - performing really well, much improved handling & brakes (Millbrook). Fact - I have spoken to people around this testing who confirm its all going really well.

Lets hope it comes in a little lighter than before - don't know if this will be possible with a water cooled engine?

I think a plus point is that the Ford engine is readily available, spares should be cheap and is made in UK. Should be good for circa 120hp.

Must have some sort of bevel drive - if so, lets hope it is better sorted than the current arrangement.

Hope we will hear something definitive from MMC soon.

What do you think/know?

Thanks
Andrew

So, they’re building a vanderhall? Meh

The Vanderhall is a front wheel drive trike. The new ACE 2.0 is a rear drive with mid-engine basically repurposed Gold Wing from the motor rearward.

I hope that the MMC does a better job of maintaining the essence of Charles Morgan's vision from the early 20th century. I do like the ideas of the Vanderhall and the ACE 2.0, but they do lack that image of days gone by. This is one of few positives that MMC got right with the M3W. My opinion only guys, just thinking out loud... smile
