I think the new 3 wheeler will be a far better car than the previous one.

But that engine out the front of the current model makes the car special and I think MH did a splendid job as it just looks right from every angle.

It also makes the early aircraft feel of the car somewhat authentic and suits the leather helmet and goggles look which is both a necessity and a lot of fun.

The soulless pedantics can sneer all they like, but no one buys a 3 wheeler ( or a Morgan ) purely for its roadholding or ability or outright speed , but rather for the fun to be had and the whole Britishness and eccentricity of a car that in the modern age is somewhat absurd. Having said that it really is a great drive and this from a Lamborghini and Ferrari owner.

The detractors haven't driven one or are just mmm..... green. ( Cue lots of solid earnest comments which I will ignore as we know from whence they come)

I wouldn't really want to know someone who doesn't like the 3 Wheeler as it offers such a cheerful antidote to the eurobox and the modern fog of political correctness and wokeness ( if there is such a horrible word). And to the proliferation or "drivers aids" that beep at you. The only driver aid I need is my riding mechanic. ( 3 wheeler owners will appreciate this attempt at a joke)

The problem is the world has become charmless as more and more jagged overwrought supercars appear in the smoke at launch and are soon forgotten. It is fair I think to say that the overall trend in the western world over the last 20 years is vintage and it shows no sign of stopping. ( New Countach anybody?)

The exposed engine in the 3 wheeler harks back to the early days of Morgan and underlines the mechanicalness ( I think I made that up) of the "car". It appeals to both the designer and the engineer much like a Victorian bridge.

It has character and enhances our world rather than detracting from it like so many modern objects that litter down hill and dale. ( the proliferation or ugly road signs anybody) And it makes one smile. I think its a tougher job to achieve this with the new 3 wheeler using a in-line ( I presume) 3 but I do hope Morgan manages it and sells lots and lots!
