I've had a few V8's in the past, and as much as I enjoyed the 'brutish' nature they do make for a lazy drive/driver. Much more fun trying to get the most out of somethng with smaller capacity.
When I feel like winding up the V8 boys, I point out that they are excellent cars for people who aren't very good at changing gear.

When I had my 4/4 I got the closest to getting a ticket in over twenty years as it encouraged you to be a hooligan whereas the constancy of torque in the V8 calms you down, as I have no desire for a ticket I'll stay where I am.
