As stated up there somewhere in the previous 11 pages, this is an 18-pin module. I have had a couple of requests to build a 12-pin version, as fitted to earlier models. The 12-pin TSM version uses an external flasher module to do the 60-120 flashes per minute, and that TSM's connector is mounted 'upside down' compared to the 18-pin TSM. If someone is keen on organising a 'crowd-funded' type of system to cover the non-recurring engineering charges then I will be happy to proceed.
The design weakness with the 12-pin TSM is that the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal is fed directly into the AVR microcontroller. If a high-voltage pulse enters the box and zaps the AVR chip then its internal diodes can rupture, if that's the correct term. The net result is that 5 volts fed into the AVR can leak out of the VSS pin. This leakage current may be sufficient to back-drive the engine's ECU therefore the engine could carry on running even with the ignition switch off and the key removed!
I can prove that if someone sends me a known defective module.
