There is a consultation period open which ends very soon. They are trying to ban anything that has an effect on emissions (fair enough!) but speed and indicators are on their list. They state that the idea is not to prevent owners repairing and restoring classic vehicles, but if the letter of the law does not specifically state that, then one could be on dodgy legal ground changing the TSM.
If you get an idle moment please comment and/or let your MP know your thoughts. Personally, I wouldn't object if the new legislation applies only to fully-autonomous vehicles.
Very Interesting. Without a clear definition of what constitutes a 'tamper' in the eyes of the law, I think it is very difficult to comment. Now what would be criminal is if it were to apply to mods like Phil Bleazeys, which greatly improve the original product, and are safe, within what constitutes safe for this car.
It mentions a proposal to limit the number of recalls on a vehicle. Morgan seems to comply with that already, declining to acknowledge clear faults in design and manufacture.
