18-pin TSM2 Release Notes S/W V1.00, 24th August 2021/15th November 2021

Some useful information.

H&S information:

Do not dispose of unwanted TSMs in household rubbish. The TSM-2 is built with lead-free solder.
The speed of flashing is nominally 90 per minute, in the centre of the MOT's 60-120 requirement.

Features:

When the ignition is switched on, the dashboard's hazard warning lamp should briefly flash.

Normally you will see 1, 2 or 3 flashes, which indicates the Autocancel timeout index value stored in
non-volatile memory as follows:

flashes timeout
1 7 seconds (default)
2 14 seconds
3

OFF (i.e. no timeout)

It is easy for the owner to alter this to suit their preference. See Appendix 1.

The vehicle speed above which the timeout is active is very slightly faster than with the original TSM S/W V4.04.

The battery condition indicator is only activated by pressing the hazards button in the correct sequence:

1 Headlamps OFF, Hazards OFF, indicators neutral.
2 Switch Ignition on
3 Wait for about 1 second and then press the Hazards button
4 After another 2 seconds or so release the Hazards button, and within 10 seconds of ignition on.
5 The engine may be started if wished during this 10 second period.

After 10 seconds have elapsed from ignition on, the hazard lamp will show two groups of flashes.
Each flash indicates one volt. The first group is the minimum voltage detected during 10 seconds, the
second group is the maximum. If the car's engine is started during the first 10 seconds then the
high crank current will drop the battery's voltage. Low voltages indicate a potential problem with
battery condition. The high voltage should be about 14 if the alternator and battery are good.

Appendix 1.

Procedure to alter the Autocancel timeout.

1 Headlamps OFF, Hazards OFF, indicators neutral.
2 Switch Ignition on
3 Wait for about 1 second and then press the Hazards button
4 To increase the timeout, indicate LEFT then cancel the indicator. This will increment the timeout index
thus changing 7 seconds to 14, or 14 seconds to OFF.
5 Another indication LEFT then cancel will increment the index again, if possible, thus two LEFT
indications will change the timout from 7 seconds to OFF.
6 Release the hazards button within 10 seconds of ignition on.
7 You should see 5 very brief flashes on the hazard lamp after a few seconds. This indicates that
the new value has been stored in memory.

To decrement the index, use the RIGHT indicator in the same manner.
This will change OFF to 14 to 7 seconds.

If you switch the ignition off and on again, you should see 1, 2 or 3 flashes so you can tell the
autocancel timeout.
