I agree with the sentiment that if the M3W was not so unique and fun, owners would have never been so accepting and forgiving.

I too thought that I had done my research, and had a plan to make the expected updates, fixes, etc. What I had not planned for was how MMC reacted to unexpected quality issues, with their most common reply to my complaints being, "but nobody complains about that" or “they all do that”. More specifically, their Centa upgrade kit’s main journal was made so poorly, with metal lathe chock marks on the sealing surface, it tore up the rear main seal shortly after that 'upgrade', dumping its oil on the street.



It was shocking that senior MMC leadership had so many stories, excuses, and denials. Although MMC eventually made a journal without chock marks (after I sent them a YouTube video on Metal Lathe Soft-jaw Technique - when they said it could not be done) however, still with a turned sealing surface; which is likely the reason why most leak oil. I then had a race-car shop machine a burnished surface with a chamfered leading edge, as my upgrade to MMC's upgraded part... and it then didn’t leak oil (no, they don’t all [have to] do that).



I also don’t think the original book’s edition had anything about fuel tank cracks, which turned out to be my most expensive repair cost, and a design that was never improved upon by MMC. My re-welded brackets,



In the end, even though my M3W ownership was a terrible experience (and has caused me to never buy another English car) it was all worth it, as I was on this forum when kankeL posted that ACE#10 was for sale.

Peter, one of the things you questioned in your book was why Morgan bought the Liberty Motors ACE designs, when they didn't seem to use much of it, if anything at all. As someone who has owned both, I’ve personally concluded that Morgan simply didn’t want to let their target customer have a V-Twin 3-wheeled alternative.
