If you are considering the use of separate satnav and ICE then do consider the problem of audio blocking. If you are listening to the music and the S/N burps a left turn message it can be drowned by the music. If you are running waze and spotify the phone semi-mutes the music to deliver the turn info as it is all designed to work together. If they are separate you end up turning the volume up and down depending on if the music is on or you are at speed.
What ever anyone says the engineering and real time content updates on Waze (or google maps which uses the same engine) cannot be matched. They can also be stored in advance of a journey.
