Thanks Kerry, and glad your car is sorted. I probably need a crash course in tyres. Horse for courses I guess. Different wheel diameters/widths and tyre profiles etc.

I asked because yesterday I had a pothole-damaged tyre replaced on my Fiat 124 Spider. The Bridgestone 205/45 on17" alloys, run at 29psi.The car is about the same weight and geometry as an MX-5, on which the recommended pressure is 30psi.

So why is it that my Roadster handbook recommends such an (apparently) low pressure ?
