First are you sure the fine is genuine and came from DVLA Secondly your insurance company cannot auto renew without your permission, did you receive this request and did you reply ? If not you are likely not insured. If you did it is possible your reg number was incorrectly entered on the database, check this with Headley. This is quite common. If it was incorrectly entered then inform the DVLA sending a copy of your ins cert. You should ALWAYS check ASK MID database on the first day of renewal. Or check the details on the email confirmation of renewal. It is worth remembering that if for any reason (by accidenr or design) the penalty is £300 plus 6 points and vehicle seized, £150 recovery fee.
