My first 2 seater was one of these.



Honda S600 Coupe

Unfortunately it developed a problem with the starter clutch and, at the time, spare parts were difficult. It would have been an expensive engine out job to fix it, and I had "cash flow" problems at the time so it had to go.



It was a lovely fun little thing and I would not mind having one as a toy today, though perhaps the later S800 which was not only more powerful (capable of topping the ton) but incorporated a number of technical improvements.

I worked for a cosmetics company at the time and one of the girls was a regular passenger in the back but on one memorable occasion we squeezed in myself, my mate, plus 3 girls, one sitting between us and 2 climbed in the back through the hatch. I am, or was, a tad over 6 foot and occupied a fair amount of the available space but still managed to drive it despite the crowd. Today one would get quite a large fine but back then things seemed a bit easier.
