The last 'modern' 911's I had were 997's when they were current. I still like the look of them but the potential costs put me off getting one now.
The latest cars, 992, don't really interest me, they're just very nice, very fast, very expensive, luxury executive cars.
I've had a couple of aircooled cars. They are relatively simple to maintain, but that doesn't mean they're cheap to run....!
The first one I had was when they were (relatively) cheap and I could just thrash it round without worrying too much.
My last car had recently (previous owner) had a top end rebuild by one of the very big names in the UK at a cost of £20k.........
I knew it needed a bit of body work when I bought it, but as soon as you start digging the costs just go mental. Unless they've had a full resto they're all rusty.
I've got the porsche thing well and truly out of my system now😆
+ no one will ever let you out at a junction in a 911 and everyone thinks you're a knob................
