I suspect Porsche are no stranger to controversy given the engine issues they experienced in the design of their then new to market water-cooled engine that could allegedly destroy it`s self at car park speeds having on occasion covered few miles in total.
The cynic in me thinks as this might affect as many as 3% of production, and that there were rumours of a class action in the US, perhaps spawned the Porsche extended warranty insurance scheme for Porsches up to 15 years old and something like a max of 150K miles which customers could buy into..... I sure did, despite that the widely reported issue was resolved at least one model year before my 991, not that it is totally free of issues that can bug me..but then I am a grumpy old man..
