My solution is to keep buying more interesting cars 🙂 ... the Morgan fills that spot nicely for me and was bought specifically to address the issues you raise ... as a crossflow trad it's still great fun to drive at speeds that don't trigger every speed camera or make pothole avoidance a serious problem ... would never waste my money on a Supercar or even performance car these days, waste of time and money.
I find the Mog much better than most in terms of accessibility and reduced need to crawl under it compared to anything modern.

I'd agree with that! That's one of the reasons why I ditched the Corsa in favour of the MG.
Although if I had a lottery win, I would splash out on a Plus Six (after buying a house with a very large garage).
