I think the Italians were aiming at a different demographic but they didn't have the confidence to put a more adventurous body on the new chassis.
Going with a 'trad look' body limits it's audience to old people again, back to square one, not getting 'new blood' in to the brand.
IF....... there is a massive take up of the 0% offer and they end up delivering loads of cars, cars that will be handed back after 2 years, it would totally destroy the residual price for all CX owners.
A massive flood of cars on to the used market would only force values down, also it would probably kill the market for new cars. Why buy new at £100k + when there are loads of low mileage used cars available.
If it were to happen the dealer network couldn't cope either. There are fewer dealers now, most small scale operations, who could easily do without selling the CX cars as they have enough custom for trad sales and repairs.
