Let's be clear to start off..... It's not aimed at beardy weirdy, flying jacket and cloth cap owners. There will never be one at a noggin.......
It's not aimed at trad owners or folk who inhabit TM.
I wasn't a fan of the Italians taking over, I didn't want change at all really.
I liked how things had always been done in Malvern, I still think they could have carried on that way, but that's another argument....
I like trads....!
The CX has grown on me, I've driven one and it is extremely good (for a Morgan), it clearly isn't ever going to compete with a boxster or a Z4, but why should it, everyone else is desperately trying to make their cars more analogue, more....fun.....! It is a Morgan though. Morgans require a different mind set. If you want a Morgan nothing else will do.
The video is very slick. It's aimed at folk who collect cars, if your surname is Lauren or Leno, or your dad's face is on the currency, this is the car for you.
Perhaps the video is as much about making MMC a saleable proposition as much as selling midsummers.
I absolutely love the car in the same way that I thought, and still think, that the Aeromax is stunning. I think the midsummer will become a classic in the same way.
I presume that the direction of travel for the Italians is more towards concepts, bespoke and instant classics. I hope that the Pininfarina collaboration leads to more cars, perhaps more affordable cars that could fit in to the range.
Come on Morgan, stay extreme, odd, rebellious, different, outrageous.....fun.....!!!!
