I certainly hope not!! No logic in that, as it only satisfies the political needs of a governing class none of us trust any more. A large part the environmental damage caused by vehicles is their production
and EVs no less so. The world's biggest nations still use fossils fuels (including coal) to produce their electricity and that is less regulated than consumer vehicles. The
infrastructure is infinitely too much for us now to maintain and retain, and, if you haven't noticed this morning on the way to work, it is no longer functional.
The logical future is mass transit. We can pay for anything we want if we sell city streets to developers. No traffic jams, auto insurance, fuel, repairs, honking and MUCH faster
getting from A to B. But will auto manufacturers and the support trades stand for it? Frankly, with our existing political structures, I don't think we are realistically involved in the decision.
