Not having to deal with centre locks, I have not delved into why the process seems to be so complex. and apparently in the case of Porsche the process requires the nut to be tightened fully then loosened back off and then tightened again to the required torque... There are vids on YT where battery operated wheel nut guns can be programmed to carry out the whole process....
