I wonder if the bolts go into captive nuts in the chassis. That's how the roll bar seems to be attached. I wouldn't expect to see an arrangement like on the trads, and bolts obviously can work loose, but on a steering rack you would imagine they would use some form of locktite. The thing is, if this car didn't have the fasteners fully tightened during build, then it was a one off caused by "negligence" at some level. The build book will show who did that installation and who approved it.
But if that steering rack was fitted correctly at build and the fasteners have loosened, then it could happen to any CX. That's the issue.
