This is dangerous enough that there should be a re-call on all the cars fitted with this steering rack for a control and rectification.
Which is why I think it is necessary to involve the DVSA. By all means contact the CEO, but this could be symptomatic of poor design / build / QA at MMC which may impact other safety critical systems on the CX.
