We are now just shy of 2000 miles into our French tour in 2.5 weeks so far, reckon we have about another 500 miles left, the car has been running in 32 to 38 deg heat during daylight hours the entire trip, went over the high passes of the Pyrenees and now heading North again toward Brittany. The Plus Six has been running on E10 and engine wise has loved it.. Only issues so far have been ground clearance even with the SSL suspension upgrade, we have bottomed out 5 times, when loaded with 20 kilo luggage on back rack.. this has mainly been due to raised metal in the centre of gate entrances.
Only failure ( today) was the separation of the passenger side window padded leather interior finisher on the side screens, turns out the MMC had drilled the holes too large in the alloy and the plastic holding tabs of the finisher have pulled out, you can see where they had been glued to get them to hold in the alloy ( so crap quality control again).. I will undertake a running repair tomorrow as we brought with us superglue and 3M strong double sided tape.
Another failure has been the blue colour around Morgan in the front grill Morgan badge.. it's damm near melted in the sun!!.
So far the new radiator (4th) has done it's stuff, both header tanks holding their levels even in 38 deg heat.
It's been some trip in max heat levels, but the car has purred along. We have had a hell of a good time and where ever we have stopped the French have loved it..tooting of horns from cars and thumbs up from the bikers.
Has it been practical, no not much.. but it has been a great adventure and fun. ( so far).
We have only had the hood up twice when it reached 38 deg, in that temp the cars aircon just coped.
So far we have seen around 40 to 45 miles per gallon ( touring speeds ) , my only wish was the car had more useable fuel amount for touring
