Simon's bracket weld is definitely stronger and satisfies the engineer in me ... however, the curved weld on the Mulfab one is plenty strong enough (if their welding is usually competent) .... if they were destruction tested I'd put good money on both of them failing through the tank material ripping rather than weld failure.

PS ... if what Sewin says about multiple failures is confirmed then maybe that's the time to consider alternatives .... I commented as this example is the only one I remember seeing on here and it was some time ago .... in the real world there will always be an odd failure .... just concerned that this may have been a case of 'the internet never forgets'
