I know your point ref spares and fitting charges with Mercedes. We ran an AMG C63 coup from new, sold it one year after warranty ended due to poor service from our local dealers, it was very difficult to find both experienced techs and a honest dealer for the model of car. Plus every boy racer wanted to take it on.. spoilt the driving.. I much prefer driving our Plus Six, I know its quirky and ( being honest) not that well assembled, but I have spent five years working on the cars issues that crop up, sorting each in turn. I am still doing that.. So was not pleased that it was seemingly impossible to purchase a known failure item from Morgan, unless a not directly involved mechanism was purchased with it. The failure point in this case is a cheap clip that can be made.. but its started me thinking about the future of Plus Six parts availability for the future and how long we keep the car. I fear there will not be the same level of parts availability for the CX as there is currently for a Trad due to changing CX MY build specs.
