'Er indoors has a cooper d, bought new in 2008. We had been very pleased with it until last year when the dual mass flywheel let go at 60k km. despite the car having been religiously serviced at the main dealer, their reaction was appalling - truly one of not giving a dermot.
This is of course an issue with my local dealer and bmw France, but I shall never, ever, buy a new car again from bmw in this country. I'm now having the car serviced by an independent garage.

Hi Pandy, yes the DM FLYWHEEL going on the more powerful Minis and Diesel ones is common. Our Cooper S 2003, done 64k miles and nearing needing a clutch, bill without flywheel £350 with £800 and that's at local garage.

I had two dual mass flywheels go an an Audi A4, at 20,000 miles and the replacement at 35,000 miles. Luckily they covered the replacements under warranty but it was a bit of a battle. They first blamed my driving and I had to take the Service Manager out for a drive!

The dealer has come back with some very interesting payment options, based on a well specified Cooper. Less per month than we are paying on the 320i and nothing extra to pay, so swap a 2 year old BMW for a new Mini.
After 6 months of run flats on the BMW I'll never, ever buy a car with them again. So yes, 16" wheels with sensible profile normal tyres and the adjustable damping. They soften the ride by 10% from normal in "green" mode, in sport they harden by 10%. Only £375!
First test drive on 20th, if that is promising then a loan car for a weekend to make a final decision.
If we go ahead then build slot is end of June: I'll insist on a factory tour!

I have a Mini Loyalty Swipe Card!
Two daughters and a wife- all had a least two each. Great to drive, reliable- but as above, steer well clear of the run flats. Ruin a nice car.
Wife's current Mini Countryman Cooper D 4 - in red with black wheels- same as the Morgan.

Another MINI owner here.
Mine is a petrol Cooper (2011).
I think they are great cars, I'd happily buy another - I may have to as my 18yr old daughter seems to have grabbed mine as her own.

I've had an 07 Cooper S Clubman, an 08 JCW hatch, an 11 Cooper SD Countryman All4, a 12 Cooper S Coupe and have a 15 Cooper Countryman on order. I've owned some of this at the same time i.e. these are not necessarily replacing each other. Must be something good about em

I did throw an M135i into the mix once thinking it was a step up from a Mini, it wasn't - it was a BMW, dull - sold it after 3 months and lost 33% in value due to too many options!
Looking for another Morgan!
