We returned from Italy a couple of weeks ago and parked the car in the garage. It had run perfectly for the holiday. When I tried to start it today for the first time it turns over ok but will not fire up.
The battery is fine as has been left on a trickle charger plus we tried a jump start to and just the same. There are no messages come up when I plug diagnostics in and the fuel seems to be getting to the engine bay ok.
Has anyone else had this issue? ANy ideas?

Hm Not had that happen. I've had it where the immobiliser hasn't recognised the key a couple of times but that's cured by simply taking the key out and putting it back in but I don't think it even turns over in that instance.

Oh no... I'm sure Krazy Horse will sort it. At least it didn't happen on holiday

Has the immobiliser pellet fallen out of the key in the hot weather?

Hi Hawki - I had a similar issue about 18 momths ago. It turned out that the cylinder head in the GDi has a separate earth lead located at the back of the head held by a 8mm bolt. In my case the bolt was very slightly loose sufficiently so to have a poor earth. As the coil packs etc are mounted on the head over the spark plugs a good earth for the head is required.
In my case this was sufficiently poor to cause a 'turning over but no firing' situation exactly as you describe. Simply tightening the bolt cured it immediately. Awkward to get to though.
