Hi all, would appreciate any help or experience on a small coolant leak I'm seeing on my 1990 +8. Seems to be coming from the connections to the 2 tubes in the 'V' of the engine? Can't really get in and see anything but no drips from the heater connections, these are dry, so can the tubes develop holes or likely to be the water pump end that you cannot really get at? I'm not at the stage of lifting off the plenum / inlet manifold to get better access - what is the way to get better access to see what actually leaking? Topping up the expansion tank every 100 miles as seems to run dry - guess the coolant get sucked back into the system once it cools down? Appreciate thoughts and experience of similar issues. Many thanks

I am not sure if there is an air vent within the filler cap or pressure relief valve but if that's defective the coolant pressure may be excessive.
Double check no coolant is finding its way into the engine oil because if it is, there is a risk of engine damage by contamination. Do an oil change to be on the safe side. !!

Quite common on rv8 engine to have a slight coolant leak into the V. First thing to check is the tightness of the jubilee clips at each end. There’s a pipe running under the inlet manifold with short rubber connectors at each end and over time the start to weep. Easy fix if it works.

2012 Plus 4 in Sport Green. Much comfier than the Plus 8!
