I have made a leather fixing strap with a Tenax stud on a plate to hold down the folded hood...much easier!

I have been using a simple Velcro strap on each side made by buying a pack of Black adhesive from Sainsburys.
Cut it in half and stick a strip of 'Hooks' back to back with 'Matt'.
Mitre the corners and job done. Two effective straps to hold it all together.
I did then sew on a stip of old lap top strap to each as I became fed up with the 'Hook' side always gripping the Fleece' on the Hood Frame.
