Today, at long last I picked up my M3W from Krazy Horse and drove home 40 odd miles in showery weather. Tried to keep the revs around the 2500 which was a bit slow on the A11 as most other vehicles were 20 mph faster.

My first impressions were a bit disappointing. The car has all of the 2014 revisions except the comfort mod, which is to be fitted at the first service.

The engine sounds sweet, the transmission however makes more noise than expected which seems to be worse under light throttle but is nearly eliminated when pulling hard just over the 2500 revs. I was wearing a full face helmet due to the weather which may have made it sound worse than what it was,I understand that this will become quieter as the miles build up and the bevel box beds in, I hope so..

My biggest gripe is that it is difficult to keep it on the straight and narrow and it seems to wander and move across the road when a small bump or camber change is encountered. This I presume is bump steer and will be overcome when the comfort mod is fitted.
I tried to loosen my grip on the wheel but this did not help. During my trial runs in demo cars I did not experience this problem but then the wife was with me in the car, possibly the extra weight helps.

I stand and look at it parked up in the garage, it looks great, I know it's not perfect but it will be. I just want to go for a drive and get some miles on it in the sunshine. I will let you know how I get on.
