I think it's because of two things, firstly the pedal is not exactly where you expect to find it being lower than the accelerator and secondly, the brake pedal is pretty soft. Progressive yes, but as I think we have mentioned on TM before, MMC have left the pedal rather soft to try and avoid lock-up - a 3-wheeler version of ABS?

When braking hard in slippery conditions, it is fairly easy to unstick the rear-end, as it is also easy to get it to slide by allowing too much torque through, but generally the handling and braking is well-balanced and feels adequate for the weight and performance of the vehicle.
