As far as I can see the factory will accomodate reasonable special orders if asked nicely. For a customer order for a sequential gearbox the factory may even be keen to try it out if someone else is paying for it.

Personally I would choose the helical gears for reasons of noise. Straight cut gears tend to be noisy.
