My 2 cent on this, it is a good and plausible offer.
It should be considered that most of us are beyond 25y. Of course I like to play with the gears, it's part of the experience.
But.....Back in 2013, in October I had a serious disc surgery although I never suffered back pain before at all (but this week before surgery was the hell on earth...). My left foot was mostly paralysed. After the surgery I had to train the left foot/leg during long weeks of rehab, before I could even press the clutch pedal of the Mog. Now the foot is strong again, only having lost a bit of sensors. This was a lucky result but it was not sure it went so well.
Therefore, I feel empathy for the chance to get an automatic gearbox and empathy as well for the drivers who get the fun this route they couldn't enjoy at all if anyhow handicapped.
Tomorrow it could be you or me who would opt for an Auto.
