I recently tracked down the plate of my fathers first car.... 1960 Morris Oxford. I just had to buy it....so many happy memories. Although from a dealer, they dropped the price and it was quite reasonable. Not that I bought it for an investment or a bargain....it's a keeper.
I tried to do the same, but without success. I thought that once a number had been issued the DVLA wouldn't re-issue it.
