Yes, again, thanks for posting this.
I guess the EU decided to compensate people for their time [3+ hours delay] & the likely ensuing inconvenience, rather than the price of a ticket.
And rather than have the whole thing descend into a bureaucratic soup of allowances for varying degrees of delay & inconvenience, it looks like the EU took an unusually pragmatic view, and imposed a flat rate fee, regardless of the flight cost.
I guess the airlines insure against having to pay out.
But at least by having a flat fee, and airline should be able to pay out quickly.
So full marks to the EU for clear & simple regulations [who'd have thought it!!!] and for EasyJet for processing a claim so quickly.
