I can't help but come back to the fact that many of the items can be put down to poor/no design and low build quality.
If only they'd just get their act together and just sharpen up a bit. They surely can't rely on middle aged fanatics for ever can they?
I wouldn't worry, all credit to Dave W for doing this but don't forget that the vast majority of our cars don't have these 'extras' and seem to survive perfectly well! I can't help but think that some are solutions looking for a problem.
