I've just read the review - for the love of.........
Over many years, I have had the pleasure of belonging to the MSCC; enjoyed competing in its speed and race events, enjoyed the occasional MOG and enjoyed the company of MSCC members of DevaMog, TorMog and particularly NorceMog.
There is a real dilemma for clubs and their officers. Legal and regulatory requirements force them to be more 'professional' whatever that means. Why oh why does the MSCC need a Child Protection Officer for goodness sake?
To compound all this everyone has intense pressures on their time and then there is the increasing reluctance of people to volunteer; not just for the MSCC but for all charity and volunteer organisations and yet budget and regulatory demands simply increase without relent.
Even organising a scenic run now demands notification and a 'license' by regulation. Welcome to the modern world of over-regulation, bureacracy and b*****ks.
Clubs have a real challenge on their hands; members want everything on a plate and they are competing in a social media world where 'friendships' are made without ever physically meeting.
Although I agree with many of the views aired here, please don't judge the MSCC too harshly, after all, if you don't participate you won't get anything out and if you don't volunteer, one is not best placed to criticise.
Finally, I do agree with those who criticise the language used in the review - it does scream of management speak which is, under the circumstances, unfortunately disconnected from the world of Morgan enthusiasm and is, perhaps, what many of us Morgan owners are trying to get away from.
